Workshop format
The workshop will include two full days of scientific presentations and discussion. Oral
presentations and posters are welcomed. Topics of the sessions will include sugarcane
agricultural engineering, agronomy, and extension. In addition, there will be two days of tours
which will include visiting Louisiana State University Agricultural Center’s Sugar Research
Station, John Deere Thibodaux, United States Department of Agriculture-Agriculture Research
Service, Sugarcane Research Unit, and other sites within the Louisiana sugarcane industry.
Important Dates
Louisiana has a wide range of tours and activities that appeal to visitors who want to experience
the culture, history, and energy of south Louisiana. In Baton Rouge, popular options include
guided tours of historic plantation homes, riverfront attractions, museums, and food
experiences that highlight Cajun and Creole cuisine. One of the most memorable activities for
international visitors is a swamp tour, where guests travel through Louisiana wetlands to see
alligators, cypress trees, and native wildlife while learning about the region’s unique

Visas
Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to travel to the U. S. must first obtain a visa.
Visitor visas are nonimmigrant visas for persons who want to enter the U. S. temporarily for
business (B-1 visa) which includes attendance of a scientific, educational, professional, or

Visa Waiver Program (VWP) Overview
The U.S. Visa Waiver Program allows citizens from designated countries to travel to the United
States for up to 90 days without needing a visa. Travelers must apply for an Electronic System for
Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior to their trip, which is a requirement for entry under the VWP.
Countries Eligible for the Visa Waiver Program (VWP)
Citizen or national of the following countries are eligible to travel to the United States under the
VWP: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark,
Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia,
Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway,
